It seems like we haven't heard from BlackBerry in a while. That's because it's been scrambling to stay afloat after a series of hardware and software flops.

It's found some traction with BlackBerry Messenger on other gadgets, but not much else in the consumer space. That's probably why it's launched a blog called BlackBerry Fact Check.

The portal's inaugural post, written by a Senior VP of Marketing at BlackBerry, tries to explain what BB Fact Check is all about.

As we’ve been working through this transition, there have been many vocal voices from competitors trying to incite fear, uncertainty and doubt about BlackBerry. In doing so, sensationalized reports surrounding our viability and misperceptions about our product portfolio have crowded the airwaves.

Given this environment, we must fight back. And BlackBerry’s best offense is to present the facts.

So far, the facts behind BlackBerry's new blog are muddled. The portal's three posts seems focused on investor relations.

The slideshow below is supposed to "separate myth from fact," but I'm not sure that it defines its myths well enough.

What do you think about BlackBerry's chances? Do you still use any of its gadgets or software for your business? Does this slideshow change your mind about your next smartphone purchase?
