Note: The video was filmed through Vine, which is a mobile recording app that limits videos to seven seconds. That's why it's so choppy.
This attempt at a viral video is actually marketing for the upcoming EpicMealEmpire TV show. EpicMealEmpire is a reimagining of Epic Meal Time, an Internet show that grew virally through YouTube.
The video tries to wow with an explosively fizzy reaction from a mix of Mentos and Diet-Coke, but it doesn't quite succeed. You see an elaborate Mentos suit, you see the dunk, and you see some splashing. You never see the reaction itself.
If you had footage of an insane chemical reaction resulting from a tub full of soda and a Mentos suit,  I don't see why anyone would cut away.
Content like this inspires conversation, but not the kind of conversation that gets people excited about EpicMealEmpire.
Have you ever seen a video that's gone viral under false pretenses? Did you think it was funny or annoying?
