To celebrate the store's 13th birthday, Network World rounded up 17 fun and fascinating facts about the Apple Store. You might not believe your eyes! Here are a few of the extra fascinating facts:

  • Fact 1: What's the most profitable retail store on the planet? You guessed it. It's the Apple Store.
  • Fact 2: In Sydney Australia, there's an Apple Store that has trees growing on the inside. Yes, the trees are coming from office floors.
  • Fact 3: Apple's first two stores opened in 2001 - one in Virginia, one in California.
  • Fact 4: Currently, there are only six states that don't have an Apple Store. Those states are Montana, Vermont, West Virginia, North and South Dakota, and Wyoming.
  • Fact 5: The largest Apple Store is 27,000 square feet and is located in Amsterdam. Amazingly, its Genius Bar is an astonishing 82 feet long.
  • Fact 6: In contrast, Apple's smallest store is 540 square feet and is located in Santa Rosa Plaza in California.
