Universal is using an exciting technology to deal with a terrible tragedy.
Actor Paul Walker was killed in November in the crash of a Porsche. At the same time, "Fast & Furious 7" was being filmed, starring Walker.
Canceling the film wasn't really an option - as it is, Universal is fighting its insurer over a claim in the wake of Walker's death.
So, after a four month delay, filming's on again - using Walker's brothers and face-replacement technology.
"They are finishing the film more or less as scripted, replacing Paul with [computer-generated] face replacement," a person close to the film told The Hollywood Reporter.
Walker's brothers - Cody, 25, and Caleb, 36 - will stand in for their late brother, as well as another actor for other scenes. The director will also come up with new scenes with unused footage of Walker from the previous "Fast & Furious" films.
The film will finish shooting in July near Bakersfield, California.
