Do you have too many Facebook friends? If the answer is yes, ask yourself this question: "Are they really my friends?"

Like most people, you probably have different categories of friends. There are the real true friends. There are long-lost friends from high school. Also considered friends on Facebook are your family, co-workers, and casual acquaintances. Unfortunately, you may also have people on your Facebook friend's list you do not even know. It happens.

You can clean up your friend's list on Facebook the hard way or the easy way.

The hard way: Go through your friend's list one by one and select people to unfriend.

The easy way: Check their birthdays.

Every time you log onto Facebook, simply check the top of your newsfeed to see whose birthday it is. Then, ask yourself if you really want to wish this person a happy birthday.

Be honest. If the answer is no, take them off your friend's list.

So everyday, take a minute or two and look at the birthday list. It only takes a little bit of time to clean up your friend's list this way. You might feel like a party pooper but your friend's list will be a lot more meaningful and your newsfeed a lot more streamlined.
