Apple and Microsoft: a match made in heaven

Apple and Microsoft: a match made in heaven

After six weeks on the market, Microsoft's Office for iPad apps have hit 27 million downloads from iTunes. At least, that's what Microsoft's Office Division general manager Julia White claimed at a TechED conference in Houston.

The Office for iPad apps includes familiar faces such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The apps are free and can open Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, but to create and edit files you need an Office 365 subscription.

Office 365 costs $6.99 a month for individuals or $9.99 a month for the family plan. Click here to learn more about Office 365 and where else you can use the Office apps.
