Netflix is following all the rage in design - flattened logos. You've seen it in the new iOS 7 for iPhone. Now, you'll see it from your TV screen.
Netflix has started to use a flat logo, with red letters, instead of white letters on a red background.
A random redesign? Nope. It apparently was made with mobile devices in mind.
The company has apps for almost every Internet-connected device with a screen, including computers, game consoles, tablets and smartphones. In these cases, the Netflix logo is either too small and illegible, or too bright and jarring.
Compared with ABC, CBS and HBO, which all have flat, simple and clean logos, the Netflix iconography is difficult to read on a billboard from 100 feet away. The Netflix logo is equally illegible when it is scaled down to fit in the bottom right or left corner of a screen.
What do you think? Is it a better look, or a waste of time? Let me know!
