Android continues to dominate iPhone in U.S.

Seems like Apple just can't stop Android anymore.

In the first quarter of 2014, almost 58 percent of smartphones were powered by Android, up 8 percent from the previous year. iPhones dropped almost 8 percent ot almost 36 percent of the market.

Don't weep for Apple, though. The iOS platform made gains in Europe, Japan and Australia. The phone dominates in Japan, in particular, with almost 58 percent of all phones there being run by iOS.
