Cisco: Your IT department is hosting malware

Thank God for IT departments! Even though they can be a bit trying sometimes, they come to the rescue when you've really botched up your computer!

Well here's something they won't like hearing - they may be the source of malware on your system!

Cisco says every multinational company that they checked out for their 2014 Annual Security Report had some kind of malware. And the malware is living in the IT department.

The research comes from a decent whack of statistics, according to the company's description of its sampling, which each day covers 16 billion Web requests, 93 billion e-mails, 200,000 IP addresses, 400,000 malware samples, 33 million files from endpoints and 28 million network connections.

What was the worst vulnerability? Java, of course. I've often told you about Java's problems, and whether maybe you should just uninstall it.
