More and more things are being printed in 3-D than just toys. Body parts, casts for broken bones and even entire homes are being printed - and multiple homes in a short time.

How much would it cost to 3-D print your home like it is right now? Here's a calculator to figure it out. Hint: A lot.

In fact, it would take 220 years, four months, and 11 days for a single machine to print all 27,735 bricks required to construct an average-sized 2,500 square foot, two story house. Not only that, they would cost $332,820 in plastic. This isn’t even considering a variety of other issues, costs, and delays that could arise.

The costs are likely to come down - but not soon, not for exact duplicates.
