Microsoft Office for iPad is here, and it's free - sort of

Just over a week ago, the news broke that finally an iPad-optimized version of Microsoft Office was coming to tablets. That day is here! Even though Office has been available on iOS, iPad users had to make do with a version that was actually made for the iPhone's smaller screen.

Now that it's here, the industry standard for productivity looks and works great on the industry standard for tablets. Plus, it's free to try. You'll be able to download it at no charge, however, you'll only be able to view and present Office documents. In order to create and edit them, you'll need a subscription to Office 365.

Office 365 Home Premium costs $10 per month for five tablets. But Microsoft is expected to debut a personal plan for $7 per month. Click here to get Microsoft Office on your iPad.
