Remember the album cover? Before CD covers squeezed artwork to a small size and then downloads squeezed them out altogether, album covers were sometimes considered art.
Now, a blogger named Bob Egan has found the locations of famous album cover photos, using tools like Google Street View.
It all started with the album cover for Neil Young’s After the Gold Rush. After some impressive detective work and even a note to the original photographer, Bob was able to track down the exact corner in New York City where the album cover was shot.
Go to Memolition for a great slideshow of some of Egan's discoveries. Then pop on over to his blog, popspotsync, to read more about how he found the locations.
