Wow, time flies doesn’t it? The past few months have a maze of conflicting reports, incredible theories, fan-fueled fantasies and far-fetched concepts. For the multitudes of Apple faithful who are waiting for the next big thing, speculating about the next iPhone is fun and it’s actually an integral part of the gadget’s consumer lifecycle.
But as we approach the month of September and hopefully, with it comes the unveiling of the new iPhones, we’re getting a clearer picture of what they might be.
The common agreement is that we will see two “s” models of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus – but all eyes are on the third premium version, believed to be the iPhone 8, that will rock all the groundbreaking technologies.
Although recent discoveries from leaked Apple HomePod code may have revealed a number of advanced features for the iPhone 8 such as 3D facial recognition, the edgeless screen design, wireless charging and improved camera functions, they still lack the hardware proof to go with them. Until now…
iPhone 8 internals
A freshly leaked photo posted on the Chinese social media site, Weibo by an alleged FoxConn employee shows what appears to be the insides of an iPhone 8. If you’re not familiar with FoxConn, it is the Chinese company that mass produces iPhones for Apple.
The photo appears to be a design schematic for a new gadget labeled “Ferrari EVT.” If you can recall, “Ferrari” was rumored to be the internal codename for the iPhone 8.
The schematic shows a large circular plate that looks like a wireless-charging module. Surrounding the plate is a peculiarly shaped vacant space where an L-shaped will fit. Also shown is the front-facing camera module and its sensors and what appears to be a stacked logic board.
This is the best evidence yet of the iPhone 8’s key features like wireless charging, bigger L-shaped battery, and the stacked logic board suggested earlier by known reliable Apple leaker Ming-Chi Kuo. This stacked logic board will make more room for internal components by splitting the communications chips from the CPU and the flash storage.
Kuo also predicted the iPhone 8’s “revolutionary” front-facing camera that has fully-featured 3D sensing capabilities.
This latest photo may very well be the real deal but we’re hoping it’s from a few months ago since it shows the gadget in its early manufacturing stages. If it’s actually a recent photo, then the iPhone 8 will indeed face massive delays and may not make it for a September release date.
But as always, please take all these iPhone 8 rumors and leaks with a grain of salt. We will never know for sure what Apple has in store for us until it finally reveals their highly-anticipated flagship iPhone models hopefully next month.
