Apple teased the new products on its website by posting the message, “We’ve got something special in store for you. And we can’t wait for you to see it,” while the site was down for hours. When the site came back online, these new items were announced:

  • Special Edition red iPhone 7 and 7 Plus – Apple will begin taking orders for these phones at 8:01 a.m. PST on March 24, 2017. The red iPhone 7 costs $749 and the 7 Plus is $869.
  • New iPad – Apple is eliminating its iPad Air line. It is coming out with a new 9.7-inch version that is just called iPad with up to 128GB storage capacity. It’s a less expensive version of the iPad Air 2 and there will not be an iPad Air 3. The company will begin taking orders for the new iPad on March 24, 2017. Its price starts at $329.
  • New Clips app – This is a new and free iOS app for making and sharing videos with text, effects, graphics and more. The post on Apple’s site said it’s “coming soon” but is expected to be available in April.
  • More storage on iPhone SE – The company announced it’s upping storage size on the iPhone SE. It now comes with either 32GB or 128GB of storage.
  • New Apple Watch straps.

These are some appealing new items, but we’re expecting much more from Apple later this year. Since it’s the 10-year anniversary of the iPhone we’re expecting some special new features. Let’s hope it doesn’t disappoint.
