We've highlighted super-serious podcasts in our new feature, "Podcasts You'll Love." From the anthology podcast "This American Life" to ISIS profile "Caliphate" to true-crime "Serial," these podcasts have been eye-openers.
Enough with the serious stuff. Let's have a good laugh at the expense of terrible movies. Here's a fun podcast, a sort of audio version of "Mystery Science Theater 3000."
"How Did This Get Made" is a hilarious look at some of the worst films ever produced. Paul Scheer, June Diane Raphael and Jason Mantzoukas mock films, talk to guests and pull movies apart to find out how they got made in the first place.
After discussing the film, Scheer reads "second opinions" in the form of five-star reviews posted online by Amazon.com users.
How did "How Did This Get Made?" get made?
The podcast came to life when the hosts were talking about "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" and went to go see "Old Dogs" at a theater. They knew something special was about to take place!
In almost eight years, the hosts have taken on "Burlesque," "Battlefield Earth," "Superman III," "Barb Wire" and "Rad." Look around the playlist and find your favorite bad film and have fun along with Sheer, Raphael and Mantzoukas.
New shows are released every two weeks, enough time to savor the bad films in between.
Here's another set of podcasts you should look into: Komando podcasts!
