Whether you run your own business or are a shift worker on staff, coordinating work schedules can be time-consuming. Employers have to keep track of each staff member's schedule, and staff members are often responsible for finding someone to cover their shift in the event of an emergency.
Rather than making phone calls from one staff member to another, there's a new program from Microsoft that makes it easier.
It's called StaffHub, and it lets you view schedules, exchange shifts, submit time off requests, and even connect with other members of the team - all in one place.
StaffHub is a cloud-based service that works on every device, including your smartphone and tablet. This means staff members and managers can have access to day-to-day details. Managers can also use StaffHub to send out important reminders to individual members of the team, or to the team as a whole.
To use StaffHub, you'll need Office 365 for business. There are two plans available: Exchange Online Kiosk, and Office 365 Enterprise K1.
The Exchange Online Kiosk plan is $2.00 per user, per month, and includes unlimited users, business class email with 2GB per inbox, anti-malware and spam filtering, and access to the Exchange Active Sync (EAS) for smartphones. However, it does not include StaffHub.
The Office 365 Enterprise K1 plan is $4.00 per user, per month. It includes all of the features of the Exchange Online Kiosk plan, plus several extra perks, including StaffHubb and services such as Yammer (a corporate social network), SharePoint and Office Online (which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote).
