In case you didn't know, NASA is planning on finally sending humans to Mars in the 2030s. All of the agency's ongoing research and unmanned exploratory treks to the Red Planet are dedicated to the idea that we many humans may one day colonize it. That decade is only 14 years away, folks!
In preparation for these manned missions to Mars, NASA designed a set of recruitment posters to drum up support for their Journey To Mars program. Of course, in order for the first human settlers to live long and prosper on Mars, they will need all kinds of specialized professionals to support the fledgling colony.
As NASA spins it, "Mars will need all kinds of explorers, farmers, surveyors, teachers . . . but most of all YOU!"
According to NASA's FAQ, the posters were originally commissioned for a Kennedy Center Visitor's Complex exhibit in 2009 as part of its Journey To Mars program, but now, all of the posters are available to the public.
If you want to physically display these posters, the full-size images can be downloaded from NASA's website and you can print them (or have a print shop print them for you).
Who knows? You may be one of the brave few who will have the honor to recite that "one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" spiel all over again.
