If you are anything like me, you probably have thousands of digital photos stashed on your computer, ready for viewing or printing anytime.

With the convenience and ease of digital photo taking, this collection of images keeps growing every day until it becomes large enough to be a pain to manage.

Pair this with multiple cloud storage syncing and get ready for duplicates and similar looking photos.

Imagine going through an enormous number of these files just to track down the multiple copies of the same image. Yes, it could be a mind-numbing task.

Thankfully, photo management tools are available out there to make this seemingly impossible task a cinch.

The free Windows photo management software Panaustik is one of these tools.

Panaustik automatically detects duplicate photos and even "visually identical" images regardless of their size, camera angle, lighting, and focal length. These duplicate and similar photos can then be grouped for easy management and deletion.

Panaustik can also create panoramas by stitching the visually similar pictures that are gathered. Great for multiple pictures of a location or a landmark, for example. Experts can even access the metadata of the original photos of the panoramic stitches.

And it does all of this in a blazingly fast way. Depending on your computer and the image size, Panaustik could process about "1 to 5 pictures per second."

How to install Panaustik

To try out Panaustik, just click the Windows download link below to go to the main Panaustik download page. Click on the Windows installer for your operating system (32 or 64 bit), download, then install.

If you are getting errors launching Panaustik, make sure you are on the correct Windows system installer first. (Click here for Microsoft's directions for finding out if you are on 32 or 64 bit Windows.)

Also, it requires Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 you could download here.

From our experience, it also requires Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update or you'll get all sorts of errors upon launch. Get this update here.

We know that seems to be a lot of software for just a single application but don't worry, Visual Studio is officially from Microsoft and it is used to run various C++ applications.

So, if you want to manage your photos, track down duplicates and create seamless panoramas for free, Panaustik is worth a try.
