One of the best things about photography is how expressive photos can be. A good picture used in an ad, for example, can express a brand's personality, and entice you to spend your money on it.
A photograph you took of your kids or grandchildren might, in one shot, capture the magic of Christmas morning. Or, a shot your spouse took of you deep in thought can conjure up the emotions you were feeling at that moment.
Of course, photography is also great because it's fun. These days, that includes editing photos. Years ago, you took a picture and that was that. Unless you had a darkroom, you couldn't make any changes to it.
