How much time do you spend on your computer each day? It's surprisingly easy to lose track of time spent in front of your screen - and that's not healthy.
If you're a freelancer trying to keep track of your hours worked, a parent monitoring your kids' computer use during the summer, or you're keeping an eye on your screen time for health reasons, there are plenty of tools that can help keep track of the amount of hours spent in front of your computer screen.
One of them is called Work Time Monitor and it's available for Windows desktop computers. This free application keeps track of the time you spend on your PC and automatically creates time reports so you don't have to. It does this by monitoring the active and idle times over a 24-hour period.
First, head to the Work Time Monitor download page and click the link that says "Click here to download Work Time Monitor v1.03."
Once installed, you might want to customize your Windows Notification Area and make the tray icon visible.
Here, you can view your work times with quick and easy access, adjust your settings page, or make any necessary adjustments to the clock.
To get to the settings page, right click on the above tray icon and select Settings. Here, you can set your schedule under the schedule tab, see the data on file under the logging tab, and the advanced tab for fine-tuning. You can also make manual adjustments and update your log file.
