After weeks of shopping for others, it’s about to be your turn. And the timing couldn’t be better for self-gifting.
The days between Christmas and New Year’s Day are full of sales, as retailers know shoppers will be dropping in to make returns. Stores are also motivated to offload everything that didn’t get sold as gifts.
Some post-Christmas sales won’t be announced until Dec. 25 or 26, so be sure to check your favorite retailers’ sites for details; however, a few early sales have been announced, so you can plan your year-end shopping strategy.
Bed Bath & Beyond: The KitchenAid Artisan 5-quart. Stand Mixer will be $100 off until Dec. 31, and select Nespresso machines will be up to 35% off until that same date. While you’re in the store or shopping online, be sure to check out holiday candles and other seasonal decor, which are sure to be dramatically marked down.
Booking.com: Ready for a getaway after holiday stress? This sale is live now: Get 20% off travel you book for early 2020. This deal is available for travel dates between Jan. 1 and March 31.
CheapCaribbean.com: Book a vacation package of at least six nights that includes airfare and hotel, and get a $200 Amazon gift card (use promo code DECADE). You must book by Jan. 2 and travel by Dec. 22, 2020.
Dillard’s: The department store rarely throws big, store-wide sales. But the Dillard’s New Year’s Day sale is an exception. Check its site for exact deals closer to Jan. 1. In the past, the sale has included 50% off fashion, purses and accessories.
E.L.F. Cosmetics: Get up to 60% off select beauty items now until Dec. 31, during the End-of-Season Sale.
Express: Shop now for your New Year’s Eve outfit. Until 2:59 a.m. ET on Dec. 27, you can get 50% off your entire order. Some brands are excluded. You don’t need a promo code for this sale — prices are as listed on the Express website.
Google Store: Get several end-of-year deals on Google products, including $50 off the Nest Hub. Plus, get a free Nest Mini or Google Home Mini when you purchase an individual Nest product priced at more than $99. Both of these deals run through Dec. 29.
Kohl’s: Kohl’s is known for its end-of-year deals, so check back right after Christmas. Plus, if you spent at least $50 at Kohl’s in the weeks leading up to Christmas, you may have been rewarded Kohl’s Cash ($10 for every $50 spent).
That cash is redeemable starting Dec. 25 online and Dec. 26 in stores — and it’s good until Jan. 5. Plus, if you have any Amazon returns to make, Kohl’s will ship back your stuff for free and, sometimes, give you a coupon just for using this service.
Levi’s: Shop the Levi’s End-of-Year Sale. It runs until Jan. 2 and offers up to 50% off jeans and other styles.
Mattress Firm: Shop the Year-End Sale to get a king mattress for the price of a queen and a queen for the price of a twin. You’ll also get a free adjustable base with a qualifying purchase of at least $499. These deals run until Jan. 7.
Overstock: Shop back-to-back major sales events that run into 2020. First comes the Year End Clearance Event (live now until Jan. 1), which offers up to 70% off thousands of home items. Then comes the Winter Home Blowout Sale (Jan. 2 to 13), which features sheets starting at $19 and bedroom furniture starting at $129.
Target: Until Dec. 28, Target is running a variety of deals on clothing, tech and home essentials. Highlights include 50% off women’s sweaters, buy-two-get-one-free on Star Wars toys and $80 off the 10.2-inch iPad (the same price discount we saw on Black Friday).
T-Mobile: Through the end of 2019, get an iPhone 11 or XR free with a new voice line and eligible trade-in. Or, get up to $700 off the iPhone XS, XS Max, 11 Pro or 11 Pro Max with new line and eligible trade-in.
Holiday items wherever they are sold: While you’re making returns or running errands between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, check out the seasonal aisle for holiday decor, lights, ornaments, gift baskets, Christmas sweaters and holiday beauty pallets.
