Here are just some of the steps you can take to stay healthy amid the COVID-19 pandemic:

Social distancing

  • Current data from the CDC proves that social distancing does work, and has a significant effect on flattening the curve of infection.
  • Previous estimates of 3-6 feet of distance between people may not be enough. 20 feet of space or more is a surefire way to avoid viral droplets in the air.
  • Try to avoid situations and places where people gather, and refrain from talking face-to-face with others as much as you can.
  • If possible, shelter-in-place — even if your city or state has not recommended it.

Disinfect surfaces

  • If you do not have disinfecting wipes of your own, use a solution of at least 65% alcohol, or one part bleach and five parts water, with dry paper towels to clean surfaces.

Hand washing

  • Wash hands frequently, including after every time you leave your home.
  • Wash with warm soapy water for 20 seconds and, if you can’t wash, use hand sanitizer and rub into your hands until it’s gone.
