You've seen countless photographs. In fact, it's so easy to take photos from your smartphones and tablets, then post them on social media, that you're inundated with hundreds of images every day.

Whether these photographs are worth spending any time looking at is often debatable. But there are also jaw-dropping images online.

Some of the most incredible images you'll see are on a site called GigaPan. Its equipment helps professional photographers and hobbyists take panoramic images that use billions of pixels. Its software, which creates the panoramic effect, can also be used to share photos and post them online.

In the meantime, its galleries have 50,000 images you can look at now. Its Snapshots feature lets you zoom in on these pictures, with incredible clarity.

The site holds competitions from time to time, where photographers can submit their panoramic photographs. There are also options to buy some images, like this one of the World Trade Center in New York City.
