Kim's Take: New Year's resolutions for your digital life

Kim's Take: New Year's resolutions for your digital life

The new year starts tomorrow, and it’s time to make a few resolutions for your digital life.

As 2019 gets underway, start by setting up your phone for NFC, or near-field communication. Forget opening your wallet for cash or credit cards. Using Apple or Android Pay, you just hold your phone over the reader to pay for things. Super convenient, fast, and safe.

And get outside more. Use a hiking app to find new trails. Take a different path in Google Maps.

Finally, start over with your email. It’s a mess, I know it. Set up folders that automatically sort your incoming mail. Make an email address for all your alerts from Zillow, Google and sales promos.

I am going to try to respond to email as it arrives. I said try. And if that email is longer than three sentences, I will call the person.

Happy New Year!
