Kim's take: Meditation apps can help relieve holiday stress

Stop. Let go of your worries. Breathe in and breath out. Feel better? If the last-minute holiday rush is stressing you, maybe you just need a meditation app.

Competition among the meditation and mindfulness apps is anything but Zen.

At last count, there were about 3,500 meditation and mindfulness apps for both Android and iPhones. Just picking one can cause anguish.

They have names like Calm, Happy not Perfect, Headspace and Buddhify. And these soothing apps are really raking in the cash.

Most of these apps are free, but to really be calm, you need to pay anywhere from $60 to $100 per year for a subscription for more lessons and tracks.

Techcrunch reports that these apps are raking in about $27 million in revenue per quarter. That’ll calm you down.
