Kim's Opinion: The future of virtual assistants and relationships

If you're thinking your smart speakers are always listening, they are. And that could carry some interesting consequences.

Virtual assistants like Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant are always listening, usually in the kitchen. So naturally, they know if your relationship is on the rocks.

Imagine you’re having an argument with your significant other. Your words get harsh. Your voice is raised.

Then suddenly your smart speaker chimes in and says take a five minute break and remember how much you love each other.

Sound crazy? In a few years, the artificial intelligence in smart speakers will do just this within 75% accuracy. And by the year 2025, AI combined with genetic coding along with activity and data tracking will match people with his or her perfect partner.

I don’t know if I buy this. I think we’ve got a long way to go.

Listen to Kim talk about this in her Consumer Tech Update podcast below.
