Let's say you found an amazing deal on some pretty cool antique furniture online. It's everything you've always dreamed of, but there's one small problem. How do you get it from Point A to Point B? That could be a nightmare.
If you don't know what you're doing, shipping alone could end up costing you more than the item you bought in the first place.
That's where this new app called Roadie comes in. With Roadie, you can ship your items - no matter how big or small - with one of the app's shipment drivers who is headed in your direction anyway.
And speaking of their shipment drivers, becoming one is a great way to earn some extra cash. You can easily select which routes to take and what to ship, based on where you are going anyway. For example, if you're in Phoenix and see a shipment that needs to go from Phoenix to Tucson on the same day you're going to Tucson anyway, it's a no-brainer!
All Roadie shippers need to do is enter the item's photo and details into the app, along with pickup and drop off locations. Meanwhile, drivers can select which items to ship based on the places that are convenient for them - whether that's all the way across the country or just down the street a couple of blocks.
Drivers range from college students to soccer moms and are subject to background checks and driver's license verification. Drivers are also required to have valid insurance policies.
With Roadie, you can just about ship anything. There's a special section within the network to ship your pets. Other users have sent chandeliers, bunk beds, even flowers and baked goods. You also won't need to bother with boxes and packing tape if you don't want to.
