Director of Digital Marketing

The Kim Komando Show is searching for a Director of Digital Marketing to join our team. This person reports to the President/Chief Executive Officer and is a key collaborator with the marketing team, operations, vendors and agencies. He/she will be entrepreneur-minded and responsible for identifying, evaluating and championing capabilities and toolsets that ultimately improve digital experiences, increase traffic, and positively impact loyalty and retention.

The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with a blend of business, marketing, product and technology experience, and will be the team’s subject matter expert (SME) for all things digital media. This role is one part strategist, one part planner and one part digital-media consultant.

Duties and responsibilities

Digital marketing

  • Act as the strategic leader of all digital initiatives in driving engagement, company revenue and profit growth through the company’s digital channels
  • Provide thought leadership in terms of evolving our marketing technology from a business needs perspective; think “big picture” but provide support for incremental and evolutionary improvements
  • Develop the brand marketing strategy and plan, including initiatives and programs for growing traffic online
  • Partner with cross-functional lead(s) on the development and delivery of consumer insights and analytics
  • Prioritize and roll out program enhancements for digital, mobile, paid media, etc.
  • Plan, conceptualize and execute all digital marketing campaigns and/or initiatives across owned, earned and paid digital media
  • Oversee email marketing strategy and execution-supporting initiatives, brand and clients
  • Own the digital marketing strategy for, including feature roadmaps, landing pages for campaigns and SEO
  • Manage digital content strategy and creation, including paid digital campaigns for search, social media, YouTube and influencers
  • Oversee strategy and roadmap for the mobile app and other digital initiatives
  • Responsible for big creative ideas and excellent execution, developing and managing a process across internal teams and external partners
  • Budget management – ensures that dollars are allocated and spent effectively and within budget parameters, and responsible for maintaining these budgets throughout the year, balancing expenditures and profitability expectations


  • Utilize analysis to better understand and evaluate the end-to-end digital guest journey across channels, platforms and touch points, including role and contribution of each in engaging guests, driving traffic, and increasing loyalty and frequency of visitation
  • Track, measure and report on the performance of all digital marketing campaigns and initiatives, assessing against set goals and objectives and measuring ROI
  • Lead consumer research and deliver high-level insights to identify key areas of opportunity to grow sales and revenue
  • Work closely with Finance and IT to analyze data, present findings and give recommendations to enhance business efforts

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Arts or Bachelor’s of Science degree
  • Minimum of seven (7) years in marketing, digital, product, technology or related experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years directly managing others
  • Genuine interest in consumer technology, as well the company’s core values and its culture
  • Thrives at the intersection of marketing, business and technology
  • Proficient knowledge of the digital marketing landscape (e.g., digital experience and multi-channel management, marketing operations, customer data management, e-commerce, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of, and the ability to speak the language of, common technology-development practices, needs and “solutioning,” such as Google Analytics, APIs and data sets
  • Working knowledge of UX and design best practices
  • Experience with content-management systems and an understanding of common publishing needs
  • Skilled at leading cross-functional teams, agencies and/or suppliers
  • Experience with project and technology management, along with delivery processes and methodologies (e.g., agile, waterfall, etc.)
