Duties and Responsibilities:
A consumer tech writer’s responsibility is to produce high quality written content for our site and newsletters, driving traffic to the site and compelling multiple page views. This position is not for beginners. You will be asked to submit samples with byline from well-established publications. You should also have:
Excellent copywriting and proofing skills
Compelling story-telling ability
Engaging headline writing a must
Working understanding of SEO techniques
Ability to write content quickly and accurately
Ability to hit a high story count
Ability to submit ideas, research what's trending online and offer recommendations for topics to feature on our website
Demonstrated professional-level skills in consumer writing and reporting, translating complex information
Interest in, knowledge of and an on-going curiosity and passion for consumer electronics and trends in the digital space
Proficiency in WordPress or similar CMS and Web publishing, HTML editing is a plus
Experience covering the consumer electronics industry
Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced, team-oriented diverse environment
Ability to accept direction and constructive criticism
Ability to produce content quickly, calmly, accurately and proficiently under multiple deadlines
Experience writing for website, radio and newsletters
Experience writing podcasts and TV scripts a plus
Experience writing eBooks with detailed content a plus
Experience in writing online training classes and curriculum a plus
Education and Qualification:
Bachelor's Degree in journalism, communications or related curriculum preferred
Minimum 3+ years of professional writing experience in publishing environment
Excellent grammar and impeccable spelling required
Familiar with AP and Mervin Block writing styles
Quick learner, and willingness to adapt and take on new roles and responsibilities as required
