I have always been a big believer in giving to great causes. Nothing warms my heart more than knowing I'm doing something good that makes a difference in someone's life.

Finding the right charity can be tricky though. You want to make sure that it's legitimate and your donation will be going exactly where you want it to go.

Wouldn't it be nice if a trusted company took all the guesswork out of charitable donations? I have good news. Johnson & Johnson has done exactly that.

I'm talking about the Donate a Photo app by Johnson & Johnson Services, Inc.

It's a free donation app that takes your photos and turns them into a way to do good. For every photo you share through Donate a Photo, Johnson & Johnson will donate $1 to the charity of your choice.

Your photos can do things like help a newborn child breathe with Save the Children, get school supplies for a girl in Guatemala with Girl Up, or help a deployed service member call home with the USO.

The app is super easy to use, here's how it works. Simply choose a charity that you want to help, take a picture with your mobile gadget (you can take one through the app or select a photo from your camera roll). Share the photo (it goes into the app's photo gallery and you can post it on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter), and then Johnson & Johnson will give $1 to your cause. It's that easy.

Here are the charitable cause categories that you can choose from:

  • Women's and Children's health
  • Healthy families
  • Health workforce
  • Environmental health
  • Global disease challenges
  • Essential surgery
  • Education and equality
  • Emergency relief

You can donate one photo per day, every day. When your friends see the pictures in their social media feeds, they might get inspired to help as well. So you can all raise more money and awareness to help your causes meet their goals faster.

You're able to track all the causes that you've helped, see what your photos have helped accomplish, and receive notifications when your causes reach their goals or when a new cause is added. It's never been easier to help the causes that you care about. And it's free!

The app is free and available for both Apple and Android gadgets. To download the Donate a Photo app, click on the link we've provided below inside the blue boxes. If you're reading this article using the Komando.com app, you might not see the blue boxes. If not, click here to see them.
