Online shopping has revolutionized the way we buy products. Just take a look at Amazon for instance. The company started in 1994 as a small online bookstore and has since evolved into the retail giant it is today.
So what happens when you order something from Amazon? While the company offers free shipping on some products, they don't always reach you.
There's the possibility that your package gets delivered when nobody is home, or someone could steal the package right off of your front porch. Or, you'll see one of those little slips taped to your door that says you have to go down to the post office to pick up your package. So inconvenient!
Next time you have an online order, have the item shipped to Doorman. Then, schedule a pick-up time that's convenient for you and Doorman will bring your package to you when you're home and ready to receive it.
On the flip side, if those shoes you got shipped from Zappos don't fit, you can also use Doorman to return your item.
While the app is free to use, you will need to pay monthly subscriptions and there are two options: A Doorman Silver plan for $19 per month that comes with unlimited deliveries and two-hour delivery windows. The second plan is the Doorman Gold and for $29 monthly, you get unlimited deliveries and shipping pickups. Also, a one-hour scheduling window.
The service is so new it's currently only available in Chicago, San Francisco and select parts of New York City. But if the idea takes off, it could soon be in other cities across the U.S.
