Chances are your kids or grand kids have dreamed of being a Pokémon trainer at one point. Now, they have the opportunity to be the very best with Pokémon Go. We’ll show you how they can catch ‘em all.
Before you begin traveling across the land, and searching far and wide, the first thing you have to do is download the free Pokémon Go app. Once you set up your account, Professor Willow welcomes you into the game. He walks you through how to catch your first Pokémon: Charmander, Squirtle or Bulbasaur. After that, it’s time to walk around test your catching abilities, train your Pokémon and engage in gym battles.
To catch a Pokémon, tap one that appears on the map. You’ll be taken to a catching interface and it's up to you to throw your Pokéball just right to make a successful catch. Green are the easiest to catch and red are the most difficult.
After you’ve caught your Pokémon, you need to level them up and eventually evolve them. They’ll level up by catching duplicate Pokémon, and the stardust you get from every catch. Eventually they’ll level up enough to evolve, but don’t do that until your character reaches Level 10.
Once you gain a little experience, it’s time to battle and claim your rightful place as a Pokémon Go Master. To attack your opponent, tap their Pokémon or press and hold the screen for a special attack. Dodge incoming attacks by swiping left or right.
