Listening to music is a great way to fall asleep, and a smartphone or tablet makes it simple to have your entire music library at your bedside. If you connect up a portable Bluetooth speaker like the Komando Connect, you'll even have great sound quality.
However, there is just one little problem; you don't really want the music playing all night. That's especially important if your gadget is running off the battery. Fortunately, there are ways to turn off music automatically.
On an Apple gadget, simply open the Clock, choose "Timer" and then set "When timer ends" to "Stop Playing." In some Android music players, you can find an option to stop playing music automatically in the settings.
However, some Android music players, including Google's Play Music app, don't have this option. That's where the Sleep Timer app comes in handy.
Simply tell it what music app you're using (it even works with YouTube), how long you want it to run for and you're set. The app will turn off the music after that amount of time. Simple!
If you haven't fallen asleep yet, just give the gadget a shake and it will keep playing for whatever time you choose to set. It can also turn off mobile data, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and notifications if you want to save even more battery life.
