Q. I have just started putting photos on stock photography sites. I am not yet 18 and don’t have a PayPal account. So, I’m not getting paid. Can you recommend some stock photo sites for me? Also, I am saving for a better camera. Currently, I’m using a Canon PowerShot A410, which is 3.2 megapixels. Can you list the best digital cameras available?

A. There are plenty of sites where you can sell stock photos. I recently wrote a column about stock photography. It lists some popular sites.

You can find more stock photo sites with a quick Google search. Try “microstock” or “stock photography.”

As you have discovered, your age is a problem. You won’t be able to use sites that pay via PayPal exclusively. You must be 18 to register with PayPal. Perhaps you could receive payments through a family member's account.

Many sites pay via direct deposit or a mailed check. That way, you could bypass PayPal. But age will be a problem at stock photo sites, too.

For example, Fotolia’s terms and conditions require a minimum age of 18. iStockphoto states that you must be of “legal age.” On other sites, I found no reference to age requirements. Before you sign up, read the terms and conditions carefully. Make sure you are not violating them.
