I would like to connect a computer to my LCD TV. I want to be able to surf the web and stream video. Would a netbook serve this purpose? Or do I need a high-end desktop? Also, how would I go about setting it up? Thanks!

The three important areas to consider are hardware, connections, and control. All three are very important for a good home theater experience. Let's start with hardware.
Netbooks have come a long way since the original versions. However, I wouldn't choose one for a home theater. Most don't have video outputs or DVD drives. And they aren't upgradeable.
A desktop is definitely the way to go. However, it doesn't have to be huge or expensive. Any modern PC will work for Web surfing and content streaming. Get unbiased advice for selecting a budget PC for your home theater in my buying guide.
