One setting to protect your privacy on your iPhone or iPad

How much time do you spend browsing the internet every day on your iPhone or iPad? There are so many things to do online, you could find yourself surfing for hours each day.

Financial transactions, checking weather forecasts, keeping up on the latest news and sports scores are just a few common activities we can do right in the palm of our hand. These handy little gadgets help organize or lives.

One downside to all this activity is the potential loss of privacy. Think of how easy it would be for a snoopy family member or friend to pick up your device and check out everything that you do online.

This is possible because every time that you visit a website, files are stored on your gadget. We're not just talking about browsing history either, there are also cookies and temporary internet files being stored.

Temporary files allow websites to load faster when you visit again later. Websites store cookies on your gadget that include data about your browser, or login information, which are then used for targeted advertising.

You might want to keep your browsing history private. What if you're searching for an engagement ring to give to your girlfriend when you pop the question? You definitely don't want them to know you're doing this ahead of time.

That's why you need to know how to clear your browsing history to protect your privacy on your Apple gadget.
