I love movies that make you feel good. For my movie picks this weekend, I put together a list that will make you want to jump out of your seat and yell, “Good for you!”

One of my picks is a true story about an unlikely hero that is also so funny and family friendly. Ian and I watched it the other night and we both loved it! I've selected five movies that are guaranteed to melt your heart, restore your faith in humanity and make you smile too!

So without further ado, here are my streaming picks for the weekend and none of them are rated R:

Eddie the Eagle

Starring: Taron Egerton, Hugh Jackman, Christopher Walken
Rating: PG-13

Synopsis: "The story of Eddie Edwards, the notoriously tenacious British underdog ski jumper who charmed the world at the 1988 Winter Olympics."

Why you'll love it: I love this movie. Ian did too! We laughed and jumped off the couch at times! With the Summer Olympics in Brazil right around the corner, who couldn't use a true, feel-good story about previous games? Eddie Edwards is a heart-warming personality and his can-do attitude is almost guaranteed to inspire you. If anyone has ever told you that you cannot do something, this is for you!

Where to stream it: Amazon Video, $4.99, iTunes

Race

Starring: Stephan James, Jason Sudeikis
Rating: PG-13

Synopsis: "The incredible true story of Olympic legend Jesse Owens' quest for gold by facing off against Adolf Hitler's Germany as well as overcoming racial prejudice in America."

Why you'll love it: Wow, Jesse Owens is an American hero for a reason. This true story is an inspiring look back at an ugly history full of Nazis, racism, discrimination and how Jesse overcame it all. I did not know the history behind this amazing athlete. I'm glad I do now!

Where to stream it: Amazon Video, $4.99, iTunes
