Create an alias phone number

Q. I'm hoping to have a corn maze this year and I need a phone number people can contact for information. I don't want to use my personal phone for this and thought about getting a pay-as-you-go phone. Do you have any recommendation on what would work without breaking the bank? Should I let the phone lapse, however, due to the seasonal nature of the business, how can I get the "old" number back next year? Many thanks! Love your show.

A. A corn maze sounds like a great idea, Anita! When you get it set up, you could submit it to one of these sites so more people can find it.

Also, if you're charging, you'll want a way to accept credit cards. Take a look at one of these mobile payment processing systems.

Getting back to your phone conundrum, I have two solutions for you. You'll have to decide which one works best in your case.

The first solution is a pay-as-you-go phone. You'll receive a dedicated number with the phone that you can keep year-round, provided you use the phone every few months.

On the plus side, you don't have to pay to use the phone when you don't need it.
