Q. Hi, Kim. I feel like a goof for admitting this, but I fell for an email scam. The person said they would send me a huge sum of money if I sent them some startup cash. Needless to say, I'm out $1,500. I know I shouldn't have fallen for it in the first place, but is there anything I can do now? Can I get my money back or try to get the people involved caught before they scam someone else?

A. Don't beat yourself up too much, Rob. If scammers weren't really good at what they do, online fraud wouldn't be responsible for $500 million a year in losses. And that's just reported crimes!
