Listening to podcasts on Android has always required third-party apps, like BeyondPod. Unlike Apple and its iTunes podcast section and app, Google hasn't had its own dedicated podcast section. Until now, that is.

Google has finally launched Google Play Music Podcasts, and it already has plenty of major podcasts, including our own "Komando On Demand," "Tech News This Week" and "Scared Sh!tless" podcasts.

You can listen to them from the Google Play Music podcast page, or through the Google's Play Music app on your Android gadget. The Play Music app should already be installed on your Android smartphone. If it isn't, you can get it free from the Google Play Store.

Open the Google Play Music app on your smartphone and tap the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner to search. Type in "Komando on Demand" and it will bring up our podcasts. Tap on the ones you want to listen to, or tap the Subscribe button to get new ones in the future.

Note: You may need to update the Google Play Music app first to get access to podcasts. Open your Google Play app and tap the icon with the three horizontal lines in the upper-right corner. Tap "My apps & games" and tap the "Update All" button. You want a version of Google Play Music from April 18 or later.
