Everyone loves to eat, but not everyone loves to eat alone. So if you want a buddy for brunch, you might want to check out the latest app and social network racing up the app charts.

It's called Down To Lunch and it's exploding among teens and college students across the country. With the DTL app, you log in and tell the app what you want to do.

For example, if you want to eat dinner at your favorite local restaurant, tell the app and post it to your friends list. When your friends take a look at the feed, they'll see your post and decide to join you.  Other options include hanging out, going to the gym, going for a hike, have a study session, get drinks, or go out and party and so on.

To get started though, you might find the process a bit unsettling. You will need to enter your phone number, your full name, and the app will also want access to your contact lists to build your friends list.

Worse, is that the app doesn't have a privacy policy (in plain sight anyway), but instead is encouraging its users to tweet that the app is safe to use. Like I said before, the app is more targeted at millennials, and they tend to have less privacy concerns than Komando.com readers.

However, as we've seen with the phenomenon that is Facebook, when social networks are released to the masses, there's no telling how far they can go.
