I have the latest version of Adobe Reader 9. I have never had any problem printing PDF documents. Now, no matter what PDF file I'm trying to print, I get two error messages. The first one says:

"The document could not be printed."

The second one says : "There were no pages selected to print."

Any ideas on this one? It's a new one for me! Thanks in advance and have a great day!

I found several triable solutions in this topic, Adobe Reader 9.1 Cannot print - No pages were selected, on the Adobe User Forum. Seems it is a rather wide spread problem.

I get that "this document failed to print" notification on 3 different computers every time I print a PDF, even though the PDF prints fine. It's been happening for years with every version of Adobe - even the full paid version.

Thanks, Xhi. I guess I'm going to try to uninstall and reinstall. I tried a couple of the other solutions and it's still not working. I'll let everyone know what happens.

So none of those fixes worked?

Have you loaded the latest printer driver?

Uninstalled and reinstalled the latest Adobe, insuring that all adobe products have been uninstalled first. Sometimes older versions are still around.

I am sure this isn't your problem, but a lot of times I get the "Document could not be printed" message while the printer is inking up, but waiting patiently usually produces the document. HP lied.

It gets more strange by the minute. I tried to do an uninstall and got this message:

"This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package still exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package."

Interpret, please

Wow! That did it. I uninstalled and installed the latest Acrobat Reader and now all is well! That program really worked well! Thanks to both of you for your help!
