My internet explorer keeps closing while I'm working. It does not physically close down the page (just stops working) but a window comes up and says internet explorer closed and asks if I want to search for a solution or close it. Without my doing anything, it will come back after this message. It is becoming very annoying. Any suggestions?

Are you using AVG anti-virus? What Version? If so, I have a suggestion for you. Reloading, or completely updating AVG solved this type of problem for a couple folks I worked with last weekend. Xhi The Computer Whisperer Never start vast projects with half-vast ideas |

I have the same problem with IE shutting down. I use to use AVG, but have installed the new Norton and still have the problem. It's frustrating.

You went from BAD to WORSE by using Norton. Get rid of Norton and install AVAST FREE. You did not mention which IE version and what OS you're using, which will make a difference as to how we go about solving your problem.

I have IE8 and Vista. I know I hate Norton but when the tech cleaned off my computer, I was lazy and just used the Norton already on the computer. I'll get rid of it.

IE8 and VISTA do not get along. I'm not even happy with IE8 in Win7, but it's a little better than under Vista. If you do not plan on upgrading to Win7, I'd revert to IE7 to solve your problem.

I'd keep the IE8 because it's the latest update, but would use Firefox or Chrome for my browser.
