For some reason I can't watch dvds on my wmp. I can back-up i-tunes to cds, I used it to upgrade to windows 7,so I know it is working. I noticed this problem, before I upgraded to 7, and It still persists.I was going to watch a movie from netflix (Journey-To the edge of the universe)so I presumed there is not any strange codect stuff. After I put the disc in it kinda sputtered, and actually made a pop-up say wmp has stopped working. It gave me these error codes. Werd48e.tmp-----were9f2.tmp.appcompat.txt------werfab5.tmp. Tried to google them but to no avail? I have the upto date version of wmp. My system is w7 home premium 32-bit.Thanks for your time |

If you're using WMP 11, that's your problem. I have yet to get 11 to work not only on my systems, but several customers systems. Had to revert to WMP 10, or install NERO to view the DVD's.

Windows 7 comes with WMP 12 - the new player designed specifically for Windows 7. Check to see that WMP 12 was installed when you upgraded to Windows 7. Here's the link to a description of the new player which comes with all versions of Windows 7:
