Tesla's Model S just got even cooler. After the company updates the car's firmware in a few months, you'll be able to turn it on with nothing but your iPhone.
While it isn’t yet exactly certain how this will work, there is speculation that it will involve Touch ID and may coincide with the launch of iOS 8 next month.
Tesla's move to become even more compatible with iPhones makes sense, because Tesla has hired lots of Apple employees recently to work on everything from vehicle design to user interfaces.
This sounds like a very cool feature, but hopefully Tesla can make sure it's secure, too. You wouldn't want a hacker to break into your smartphone and steal your car. The company's has already run into problems with hackers in the past.
Want a Tesla, but can't afford the hefty pricetag? You're in luck. The car company is coming out with a much more affordable model in 2017.
