It seems like quite a few email scams have crossed my desk these last few weeks.

First, there was this suspicious email claiming to be from PayPal. Next was this one that threatens motorists on the East Coast, and this one aims to steal information from alleged music pirates.

This time around, it's an email claiming to be from Green Whick Attorneys of Law and informs the recipient that they are ordered to appear in court. Only one you open the email, it's worse than going to court - you'll need to take your computer to the doctor because you've just opened a virus.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Courts or law firms are very unlikely to send unsolicited emails demanding that recipients appear in court. If you receive one of these ‘Notice to Appear’ emails, do not click any links or open any attachments that it contains."

Don't fall for tricky email scams like this one. Click here for my handy tricks on spotting a fake email so you don't get scammed.
