ooVoo – This program also lets you make free video calls. But you can chat with anyone. They don’t need to have ooVoo. But if they do, you have additional features available. For instance, you can leave video messages for friends. 

AIM – This is a traditional instant messaging program. But it also does video chat. Your friends will also need to be using AIM. It also connects to Facebook, Twitter and more. You can see friends’ activity across multiple social networks.
