5 online freebies for photo buffs

If you’ve spent some time with me, you know I love photography. You don’t have to be a professional to use a camera. But if you excel at it, you may have a career. Either way, photography can be a lot of fun.

Photography tools are innumerable. A camera is just the beginning. You have a lot of options when it comes to software. Some photo-editing programs are incredibly powerful. They can also be very complicated.

But you don’t need a manual to have fun with your photos. There are some simple tools on the Web. They’ll help you edit and play with your photos. I’ve found five great sites anyone can enjoy.

Animoto

This site makes a bold statement: “Welcome to the end of slideshows.” A group of professional photographers and film/TV producers created Animoto. You just plug in photos and your favorite song. The site will analyze your music. It will then set your pictures to the song in a high-quality video. Think of it as a movie trailer for your photos. You have to see it. The videos are very cool!

FotoFlexer

Photo editing doesn’t necessarily take a complicated program. FotoFlexer takes commonly used tools and puts them online. You can edit your photos right on the Web site. Clear up blemishes and add neat effects. Tutorials are available for advanced features.
