One of my favorite things is free software. The quality of some of this stuff is extraordinary.
One program I like a lot is IrfanView. It's very handy for minor photo-editing. But you may be surprised to learn that it has much greater capabilities.
To access them, you need plug-ins. Guess what? They're free, too.
With the plug-ins, you can do effects, icons for file associations, frame extractions, presentations and many other things.
