Free tools to find out who unfriended you on Facebook and social media
I'm sure you've seen the spammy ads on social media that promise to tell you who unfollows you. If you click, you're taken to an app that offers to take all sorts of liberties with your account. You just know it's a scam.
I've got a secret for you, though. While there is no way to tell who unfollowed you in the past, there are tools that help you keep track starting now.
I wouldn't want you to have to wade through all of the scams to find these real tools, so I've collected them for you.
Not only are there ways to track on Facebook and Twitter, but on smaller social media sites, too. No matter what site you use to share, there's probably a tool for you.
Social Fixer - This powerful browser add-on gives you more control over your Facebook profile. I usually recommend it because it can change Facebook's layout. However, it has a built-in unfriending tracker that really works.
Just install the extension and click the Social Fixer icon in Facebook - it looks like a wrench. Click the Layout tab and then check the Friend Tracker box. Not only will it tell you when someone unfriends you, it will tell you if they did it intentionally or just deactivated their account.
